If you cannot request Harvard health experts, William Shrank, calling Facebook "Wild West" when it comes to health information.

This is because the group performed popular social networking site that has been found that many health recommendations came from those attracting non-FDA approved products and services.

From 15 diabetes related Facebook pages, 27% of the comments were from individuals marketing non-FDA penalties or methods.

The Group proposes the following Harvard.

"Policymakers should consider how to assure transparency in promotional activities and patients may require social networking sites developed and patrolled by health professionals to promote the exchange of information accurate and impartial"

I must admit that there are people on Facebook, trying to take advantage of people to make a buck, but also find fault with the idea that only the FDA and heath professionals have accurate and impartial information.

How many times the FDA was wrong? how can amounting to countless anecdotal evidence to ignore that demonstrates the effectiveness of non-FDA approved treatments or medical profession?

This really shows the attitude "be better and smarter than you," some academics seem to have, especially for those who think outside the box when it comes to nutrition, health and fitness.

What are your thoughts on the concept that we should consider only health tips from FDA and health professionals; participate in comments and poll below.
